Eat Pray Love
I just finished the book Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (which I have been quoting recently). Gilbert’s book is a personal story about her life and spiritual journey to overcome misery. After realizing she’s stuck living a life that she doesn’t want to live, she gets a divorce and travels for an entire year to Italy, India and Indonesia (4 months in each place). I...

The Dark Side of Pisces
I flipped though an interesting book of zodiac signs while in the mall in Tampa. I am a Pisces and this is my dark side: “A slippery, manipulative, unreliable reality-dodger with delusions of adequacy and self-destruction.”

Reasons I love going home:
1. My parents have 14 movie channels!! (9 HBOs and 5 Cinemax…I stay up all night watching these) 2. My mom can whip up excellent dinners without any effort. 3. Since I’m away at college and my parents miss me, they are more likely to spoil me when I come home (this comes in handy during Christmas). 4. My horses are in the back yard, and I get to see them everyday. 5. The...

Merry Christmas
Well, Christmas was good to me this year. My mom cooked a fabulous prime rib dinner, we had a beautiful tree and I got a the one thing that I asked for…a Canon Rebel XTi camera :) Lots of practice with Taylor’s camera has made figuring out this one a lot easier for me. In honor of my new camera, I will start my first project 365 (picture a day) on Jan. 1. Hopefully this will help me...

Lost: Missing Pieces
Ugh Safari just crashed before I saved my blog post. Here we go again… Lost is probably my favorite TV show (no, I’m not one of those obsessive fans that hangs out in the rumor-filled message boards and websites), but I have seen every episode, so that counts for something. I just found out that ABC is posting thirteen 2-3minute long clips of “never-before-seen”...

Beware of Mall Parking Lots
I survived exam week and arrived at my parent’s house in Boca Raton, Fl tonight. I have been procrastinating Christmas shopping as usual, which really sucks this year, because the Boca mall appears to be dangerous! “Police are investigating the suspicious deaths of a 47-year-old mother and her 8-year-old daughter found dead inside a car parked outside a Sears store at Town Center...

Finals Week Update
I did not go to sleep last night. I took my history final this morning at 7:30 a.m., wrote essays for 2 hours and still didn’t have enough time to finish (which pisses me off because I knew everything and probably got a crap grade because I ran out of time). Now I am utterly miserable and want to go to sleep, but can’t because I have an exam at 8 p.m., and I have to study until then...

Did I miss something?
I saw No Country for Old Men last night expecting it to be one of the best movies of the year (if rottentomatoes gives it a 96%, that’s pretty damn good), and I was pretty disappointed. I usually like slow movies as long the plot is meaningful, but I saw no point in this movie. It wasn’t enjoyable because you just sit there all tense the whole time thinking something is about to jump...

Best Kids Show Ever
I guess I’m a little out of the loop when it comes to Nick Jr.’s T.V. shows because I have only recently discovered the coolest kids show on the planet, “Yo Gabba Gabba!” The interesting thing is that the show has captured a bigger audience online than on T.V. “Either kids have gotten really web-savvy (quite likely) or adults are starting to spend more time watching...

I guess it’s good that McDonald’s is rewarding students with a happy meal if they earn good grades, but advertising on elementary school report cards?? I give them credit for being creative, but this might be crossing the line.

Oh no, I have ringxiety!
Alliant International University discovered that 67% of people in the age range of 18-26 that frequently use cell phones suffer from ringxiety, a psychological problem in which you think your cell phone is ringing or vibrating when in actuality it’s not. Dr. Jitender Nagpal explains, ”Frequent mobile users are always anxious. They are on tenterhooks, waiting for the phone to ring, trying to...
